Maloney Celebrates the LGBTQIA+ Community

Wellesley, MA – June 2, 2021 – Pride is about showing up, sharing and being exactly who you are.  At Maloney, we encourage and embrace these values by fostering a diverse and inclusive company culture and community. Maloney is proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, residents and community partners in celebrating PRIDE.   Overall, Pride serves as a movement to celebrate diversity and is a way of protesting against discrimination and violence.  It promotes acceptance, diversity, access, and inclusion and is a way of increasing society’s awareness of the issues faced by the LGBTQIA+ Community.

During the month of June, we celebrate the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual and/or Ally (LGBTQIA+) Community.  Across the globe, various events are held to recognize the impact the LGBTQIA+ Community has around the world.  This year, in Boston, events will once again be held virtually with an entire month of celebration.  Events kick off with a virtual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on June 4th and continue on throughout the month.  Learn more about this year’s virtual Pride Events and organizations to connect with on Boston Pride’s website here.

This year, the theme for 2021 is “The Rainbow After the Storm”.  This theme is meant to reflect on the past year of challenges and utilize Pride as an opportunity to come together, support each other and celebrate acceptance, justice, diversity and equity.  In addition, Boston Pride is undergoing a transformation to build a stronger community with inclusive leadership and a real focus on the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community.  Learn more about Boston Pride’s transformation here.

If you are not able to join us for virtual Pride events, you can still get involved and show your Pride by posting messages of support on social media, decorating your windows, doors, porches, yards, cars, neighborhood, etc. for Pride month.  You can also review tips on how to be an ally at https://www.bostonpride.org/ally/.
