Maloney Celebrates the LGBTQIA+ Community
Wellesley, MA – June 5, 2023 – Pride is about showing up, sharing and celebrating who we are. At Maloney, our pride never wavers, and we encourage and embrace these values by fostering a company culture of community, inclusiveness and belonging. This year’s Pride month holds a strong focus on allyship and how we can all work to address social injustices, educate ourselves on the impacts of oppression, and advocate for change. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, residents and community partners in celebrating PRIDE and the rich, diverse and creative culture of LGBTQIA+ communities. Overall, Pride serves as a movement to celebrate our diversity and is a way of protesting against discrimination and violence. It promotes acceptance, access, and inclusion and is a way of increasing society’s awareness of the issues faced by the LGBTQIA+ Community.
During the month of June, we celebrate the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual and/or Ally (LGBTQIA+) Community. Across the globe, various events are held to recognize the impact the LGBTQIA+ Community has around the world. This year, Boston kicked off Pride month on June 1st with a series of events scheduled throughout the month. Boston’s Pride for the People Parade & Festival is scheduled for June 10th and will commemorate the bravery of those who have risked their safety to advocate for the lives and humanity of LGBTQIA+ people. Learn more about this year’s Pride Events and organizations to connect with on the City of Boston’s website here.
If you are not able to join us for Pride events, you can still get involved and show your Pride by posting messages of support on social media or by decorating your windows, doors, porches, yards, cars, neighborhood, etc. for Pride month.
