Over the many years Maloney Properties, Inc. (MPI) has celebrated with the South End community, this year was no different. On Friday, July 17, 2015, MPI participated in the opening procession of the 2015 Festival Betances.
This three day festival is New England’s longest-running Latino Cultural Celebration. MPI staff members and guests from Villa Victoria walked through the neighborhoods tossing candy and beads to the parade watchers. The parade featured all age group dance teams showing off their routines to roaring music, community soccer teams tossing around the ball, musical groups singing to the crowds and so much more!
Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and IBA Chief Executive Officer Vanessa Calderón-Rosado walked up front shaking hands and waving to the many community members who came to rejoice in the festivities.
The three day festival includes youth dance performances, domino tournaments, Jazz bands, Mambo and Swing dancing, a Basketball Tournament and a Greased Pole Competition.
